Aimee Rankin Zundel, Esq.

Experienced Education Attorney

Aimee Rankin Zundel founded Zundel Law in 2022. Prior to opening her own practice, Aimee was a Partner at Weiss Burkardt Kramer, a leading Pittsburgh education law firm. From 2008 to 2022, Aimee represented WBK's public school district clients.  Aimee now uses that experience to benefit her own clients, with the same collaborative, student-centered approach she is known for.

Aimee has represented clients at all levels of state and federal court, as well as administrative agencies such as the Pennsylvania Office for Dispute Resolution, Office for Civil Rights and Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission. Aimee has expertly handled special education cases, student discipline matters, employment matters, and Title IX investigations. She also has extensive experience advising on day-to-day school operational matters, school policies, and compliance with new laws affecting educational entities.

Aimee was proudly raised in Fayette County but currently lives in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh.  In Aimee's most important job, she is the mom of two school-age daughters.  They are her greatest teachers.

Aimee believes in bringing her whole self to the table in service to others, particularly families who face challenges in getting the educational services their children need.

What if parenting became less about telling our children who they should be and more about asking them again and again forever who they already are? Then, when they tell us, we would celebrate instead of concede.  It's not: I love you no matter which of my expectations you meet or don't meet.  It's: My only expectation is that you become yourself. The more deeply I know you, the more beautiful you become to me.
